Some Yale websites and services are not accessible if using custom DNS settings. This will help you identify your current DNS setting and change it back to Yale’s.
- Access Control Panel. To access the Control Panel on Windows 10 - click the Start button or press the Windows key, type “Control Panel” into the search box in the Start menu, and press Enter. Windows will search for and open the Control Panel application.
- Click on “Devices and Printers”.
- Click on “Add a printer” in the upper left.
- A small box will appear and attempt to search for available printers. If your printer does not appear click “The printer that I want isn’t available”. If your printer appears on the list, you may be able to install the printer this way.
- Select “Add a printer using a TCP/IP address” and click next.
- In the Hostname or IP address box put in the IP address of the device and add a check to “Query the printer…” then click Next.
- If the device connects successfully, you can name your printer. Once completed click Next.
- Select “Do not share” and then click Next.
- If this will be your default printer leave a check in the Set as default printer box. You can print a test page to confirm functionality. To finish, when completed.
