These instructions will walk the user through installing a Departmental PaperCut printer on a Mac.
- Find Printers & Scanners in System Preferences or use the magnifying glass to search.
- Once in Printers & Scanners locate the “+” or “Add Printer, Scanner, Fax” to add a new printer.
- Find the “Advanced” button. If it is not available, hold down the control key and click a blank area next to the Window, and select “Customize Toolbar”.
- Drag “Advanced” to the toolbar and select Done. Now select the Advanced Tab.
- Change the Type to “IPPS”. Change the URL to: IPPS://paperc-prd-ps(Printer Server #).its.yale.edu:9164/printers/(addprintername). Change the information in the brackets to match the device you would like to connect to.
- Input the name of the department, add the location if helpful, and change Use to Generic PostScript Printer.
- If the Printer has a Duplex setting check the “Duplex printing” box and click OK.
- When you print, select the printer that was added. Include yale\ when asked for your NetID & Password.
